Nancy Lewis, LA-Z-BOY Furniture Galleries Of Arizona To Be Honored With Heart Of The House Awards At Mcnight To Remember Under The Sea GalaOctober 24, 2017
Nancy Lewis, a champion for families staying at the Valley’s Ronald McDonald Houses for more than 20 years, and La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries of Arizona, which has donated both financial and in-kind contributions and whose employees volunteer their time to many projects, will receive the Heart of the House Awards at A McNight to Remember Under the Sea Gala, the annual Ronald McDonald House Charities of Phoenix (RMHC) fund- raising event, Nov. 11 at the J.W. Marriott Desert Ridge Resort, 5350 E. Marriott Drive in Phoenix.
“The simple fact is that the incredible support we receive from both individuals and corporate partners in the community literally touches hundreds of families who stay with us every year,” said RMHC Executive Director Nancy Roach. “What Nancy Lewis and La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries of Arizona have done for our families and for Ronald McDonald House Charities of Phoenix is incredible.”
Lewis served on the RMHC Board of Directors from 1996-2002, and she and her husband, Ted, have given generously to RMCH as individuals and through their family foundation, the Ellie and Les Hayt Family Foundation. Over the years, Lewis has organized a “Sweet 16” Birthday Party in celebration of RMHC’s 16th anniversary, sponsored several rooms at the Cambridge House “and even purchased and put up holiday decorations all over the campus,” Roach said.
Among other support, La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries of Arizona, has been the presenting sponsor for the Pro-Am Golf Tournament since the inaugural event three years ago; donated print, radio and TV advertising; donated furniture and décor to both the Dobson House in 2014 and the Cambridge House remodeling in 2016; volunteered for community service projects and dinners for RMHC families and managed cause-related marketing campaigns benefitting the House. Chris Bates, Vice President of Marketing and Merchandising at La-Z-Boy, currently serves on the RMHC board of directors.
